Tropical Storm Idalia made landfall in Florida Wednesday morning as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing heavy rain, wind, and flooding to the state. The storm has since weakened to a tropical storm, but is still causing significant impacts as it moves out to sea off the South Carolina coast.
As of Thursday afternoon, Idalia had maximum sustained winds of 70 mph and was moving northeast at 10 mph. The storm is expected to continue to weaken as it moves away from land, but heavy rain and flooding are still possible in Georgia and the Carolinas.
