A significant earthquake has struck off the west coast of Vancouver Island, according to Earthquakes Canada. The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, occurred at 5:20 AM Pacific Time. The epicenter was located 209 kilometers west-southwest of Tofino.

No Tsunami Warning Issued

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has not issued any tsunami warnings for the area. However, residents in coastal areas are advised to be prepared and to monitor official sources for updates.
